Reimagining the EDA University Center Program
The vision for EDA’s University Center program is to have UCs serve as a primary mechanism for empowering institutions of higher education to meet the full array of regional economic development needs, especially in traditionally under-resourced urban and rural places. The CREC/VT/UEDA team aims to identify common elements across the EDA UCs and offer new ideas to increase the impact EDA UCs have on the communities they serve. The team is also working to better connect UCs and support EDA’s goals by facilitating the transfer of knowledge and sharing best practices among the EDA UCs. Moving forward, the team will help EDA promote and achieve the ideal for the UC program and assist UCs to be more effective conveners, connectors, and capacity builders.
